A new centre of excellence (CoE) focused on next-generation communication technologies has been established at the Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IITH) through a partnership with the Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DoT), the telecom research and development arm of the Union telecommunications department



(DoT). 

The collaboration is intended to accelerate research, innovation and skill development in advanced communication technologies, including 5G Advanced and 6G networks, quantum communications, cybersecurity and artificial intelligence-driven telecom applications. C-DoT has established similar facilities at IIT Kanpur, IIT Gandhinagar and IIT Roorkee.
