Bursting of crackers banned on roads

The city police have banned bursting of crackers and fireworks at public places and roads during Diwali. The police issued the orders in accordance with the recent directions issued by the Supreme Court of India.

The police imposed a ban on bursting of fire crackers on public roads and public places except between 8 pm



and 10 pm only.

The noise levels from crackers, drums and other instruments if any should not exceed the permissible limits as notified by the Pollution Control Board.

The orders will remain will be in force from 6 am on November 6 to 6 am on November 9.
