Budget Session of Telangana Legislature to begin today

The Budget Session of Telangana Legislature will begin today under elaborate security arrangements and also COVID regulations. Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan will address the joint session of both Legislature Assembly and Legislature Council this morning. Finance Minister Harish Rao is likely to present the annual Budget for the year 2021-22 on 18th of this month.

The session ended abruptly during the previous occasion when there was a surge



in the Covid-19 cases in the State. Special sessions were held in the month of October to pass several Bills. The authorities have asked the members, staff and media personnel to undergo Covid-19 test to attend the sessions. The authorities will allow only those with a Covid negative report.

Several issues of public importance are likely to be raised for discussion by both opposition and ruling parties.
