BRS workers stage rasta-roko in Siddipet over irrigation water release

BRS workers of Narayanraopet mandal staged a rasta-roko on the Siddipet-Mustabad road at Lakshmidevipally on Monday, demanding that the government release irrigation water to paddy fields in the mandal.

As most parts of the mandal were not receiving irrigation water from Ranganyaka Sagar and Mallanna Sagar, the BRS workers staged the protest to draw the government’s attention to the



issue. 

Many farmers from across the mandal also joined the protest. 

The farmers demanded that the government take up the digging of pending canals under both reservoirs to ensure irrigation to tail-end fields. 

They also urged Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to release the Yasangi instalment of Rythu Bharosa without further delay.
