The BRS captured one more municipality in the erstwhile Karimnagar district. The Raikal municipal chairman post was captured by the BRS with seven votes.
Second ward councillor Katakam Ravinder was elected as chairman and fourth ward councillor Turuga Soujanya was elected as vice-chairman.
Though the party has no majority, it managed to get
both chairman and vice-chairman posts with the support of the Congress and an independent.
Out of 12 wards, the BJP won 5, followed by the BRS 3, the Congress 3 and an independent 1.
