BRS working president KT Rama Rao exuded confidence that the party would emerge victorious in the upcoming corporation elections in Hyderabad, irrespective of the Congress government reorganising it into multiple civic bodies. He was responding to the trifurcation of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation following merger of over 27 civic bodies in it.

Welcoming Vijay Kumar Reddy and his supporters from Serilingampalli constituency into the BRS at Telangana Bhavan here on Thursday, Rama Rao said the party cadre remained strong despite recent defections. He stated that though the local MLA Arekapudi Gandhi had left the party, BRS activists

continued to stand firmly with BRS president K Chandrashekhar Rao who developed the State.

“Serilingampalli has become our strongest base in Hyderabad. While a few left for personal reasons, hundreds of new leaders are joining. We are confident of a clean sweep in all 24 divisions of the constituency,” he affirmed.

The BRS working president accused the Congress of coming to power on false promises. He stated that Hyderabad’s brand image had suffered under the present Congress government, citing rising incidents of crime and a decline in business confidence, resulting loss of employment opportunities.
