BRS rubbishes CM Revanth Reddy’s claims on Young India-integrated residential schools

Former Minister and BRS MLA P Sabitha Indra Reddy dismissed Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s claim that the BRS opposed Young India-integrated residential schools.

She also questioned the steep cost hike from Rs 80 crore to Rs 200 crore for the construction of each integrated residential school, suspecting a conspiracy to hand over construction to agencies from other States.

“The government must explain what led to such a steep hike in construction cost. The building construction is not even completed, but the government is busy advertising about them. The government also should understand that mere buildings don’t make a school,” she said.

Addressing a press conference at Telangana Bhavan on Thursday, Sabitha Indra Reddy said the Congress government itself was clueless about the fate of integrated schools.



She charged the Chief Minister with orchestrating a false campaign against the Gurukul education system and misrepresenting the achievements of the previous BRS government in this regard.

“The very students showcased by Revanth Reddy as success stories are products of Gurukuls established by K Chandrashekhar Rao. It is under Chandrashekhar Rao’s leadership that hundreds of new Gurukuls were established and run with focused attention,” she said, rebutting Revanth Reddy for taking credit for these initiatives.

She condemned the efforts to shut down over 2,000 existing government schools without any explanation.

Meanwhile, MLC Surabhi Vani Devi cited the poor condition of several Mandal Parishad and Zilla Parishad schools, demanding that the government immediately release school development funds and scholarships.
