BRS launches ‘Maata-Muchata’ campaign to connect with voters in Jubilee Hills

In a bid to retain its sitting seat in the Jubilee Hills by-election, the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has intensified its campaign with an innovative public outreach initiative titled ‘Maata-Muchata’. The programme was aimed at directly engaging with voters at tea stalls, busy markets, and other public spaces across the constituency.

As part of the initiative, senior leaders including former Ministers G Jagadish Reddy, Ch Malla Reddy, MLA KP Vivekanand and several other senior leaders participated interacted with citizens in Jubilee Hills constituency on Friday. Locals expressed growing dissatisfaction with the Congress government, citing soaring water bills, halted construction projects, and rising living costs.

Residents told Jagadish Reddy that they were burdened with Rs 20,000-Rs 30,000 water bills this year and accused the Congress of neglecting welfare schemes. Others alleged that while women were offered free bus rides, they were not treated with dignity in RTC buses.

MLA KP Vivekanand interacted with workers at a popular Borabanda tea point. The



shop owner, Mohammed Abdul Fasir, lamented that under Congress rule, construction activity had slowed, contracts were stalled, and small traders were struggling to survive. “Under KCR’s government, there was work, wages, and food. With construction work halting, I was forced to open this tea stall, and yet struggling to survive,” he complained.

During a visit to the locality, former Minister Ch Malla Reddy was informed that over 3,000 double-bedroom houses were completed in Jubilee Hills area during the BRS regime, but the Congress government was yet to allocate them to the poor, after much hype for submission of applications. His remarks, made during a tea shop interaction, went viral on social media.

Through ‘Maata-Muchata’, the BRS exposed the Congress government’s two-year governance failures while reminding voters of the BRS era’s welfare and infrastructure achievements. Party leaders said the two-pronged effort would help them consolidate support for the party candidate Maganti Sunitha Gopinath to ensure her victory in the byelection.
