Former MLA Peddi Sudarshan Reddy accused Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and Congress candidate Naveen Yadav of misusing public resources and violating the election code of conduct in the Jubilee Hills byelection.
The BRS has lodged a formal complaint with the Election Commission of India, demanding the immediate disqualification of Naveen Yadav and recovery of Rs 72 lakh allegedly spent on a recent meeting with film workers, who expressed anger over the use of their association funds for the Congress
meeting.
Addressing the media at Telangana Bhavan, Sudarshan Reddy said the Chief Minister attended a felicitation meeting organised by film workers at the behest of Naveen Yadav, where Rs 72 lakh of workers’ money was spent illegally.
“Revanth Reddy and Naveen Yadav intimidated film workers and the Telugu Film Federation to organise the meeting despite knowing it violated the code of conduct. How was the Yousufguda police grounds allocated for this Congress event?” he questioned.
