The BRS on Friday lodged multiple complaints with the State Election Commission (SEC) and the Nalgonda District Collector over alleged malpractices and manipulation in the ongoing panchayat elections in Nakrekal constituency of Nalgonda district. The party demanded inquiries, action against erring officials and consideration of recounts or re-polling to uphold the integrity of the electoral process.

A BRS delegation led by Chirumalla Rakesh Kumar submitted four petitions citing election malpractices in Chinnakaparthy, Chinna Narayanapuram, Thallavellemla and Marrur villages. Defeated BRS sarpanch candidates alleged that results were manipulated by certain officials acting under pressure from Congress leaders and demanded

immediate correction, recounts and inquiries.

In Marrur Gram Panchayat, BRS candidate Putta Shailaja charged officials with alleged deliberate delays in counting, power outages during crucial rounds, unauthorised entry of Congress leaders into the counting centre and denial of a recount despite a narrow margin of 19 votes.

Similar allegations were raised in Chinnakaparthy, where ballot papers were found dumped in village drains, triggering suspicion of rigging. In Chinna Narayanapuram, BRS candidate Jangili Anitha stated that after she was declared elected through a legally mandated draw, a recount was allegedly ordered under political pressure, leading to the Congress candidate being declared the winner.
