Senior BRS leader and MLA G Jagadishwar Reddy said BRS chief and former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao would supply water to agricultural fields from the Kaleshwaram project within three days if the project were handed over to him.
If the State government is not capable of supplying water from Kaleshwaram, it would be better to hand over the project to Chandrashekhar Rao, he advised the government while addressing a press conference in Godavarikhani on Sunday.
Jagadishwar Reddy criticised the Congress government for causing farmers trouble by denying them water for their agricultural fields. Though the irrigation projects in the Kaleshwaram zone were ready to supply water, the
State government was not taking initiatives to supply water to agricultural fields.
Telangana, which used to be in the front row in all fields under the leadership of Chandrashekhar Rao, was lagging in the Congress regime led by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy.
There was no problem in irrigation projects such as Medigadda, Annaram, Sundilla, and Kannepalli, constructed in the Kaleshwaram zone. Though the water enough for lakhs of acres was ready in these projects, the government was busy taking commissions and making objectionable comments.
Stating that both the CM and Irrigation Minister were behaving ignorantly, he said Revanth Reddy was forcing the State into debt.
