Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) cadres kicked off a door-to-door distribution of ‘Congress Due Cards’ across Telangana on Sunday, targeting the ruling Congress party’s unfulfilled promises and mounting debts.
The campaign, spearheaded by BRS working president KT Rama Rao gained momentum in the run-up to the high-stakes Jubilee Hills Assembly by-election.
The ‘Due Cards’, listing the Congress government’s broken guarantees after 22 months in power, evoked an overwhelming response.
Rama Rao personally led the initiative in Samatha Colony, Shaikpet, a key locality in the Jubilee Hills constituency, alongside MLC Dasoju Sravan and other leaders.
Flanked by enthusiastic supporters, he handed out cards to residents, urging them to
“expose the Congress scams” by sharing the “dues cards’ with neighbours.
“While the present city is drowning in floods and people are suffering from mosquitoes, Revanth Reddy talks of a ‘Future City’,” he said.
Simultaneously, Suryapet MLA G. Jagadish Reddy distributed the cards in Undrugonda village, Chivvemla mandal, highlighting the failures of the Congress’s ‘guarantee card’ promises.
Residents in different villages of Chivvemla mandal voiced frustrations, recounting additional financial burden passed on to them as they were forced to go for inverter purchases due to outages and pleas for better sanitation. In Mahabubabad district, the BRS leaders took up distribution of the Congress Dues Cards in the tribal hamlets near Maripeda Bangla and Dornakal.
