BRS alleges misuse of TDR under Congress rule, vows to expose scam

BRS working president KT Rama Rao alleged that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s family members and his associates were buying Transferable Development Rights (TDRs) indiscriminately and setting the stage for a huge scam.

“After our government returns to power, we will conduct a probe into this TDR scam. We will expose the role of Revanth Reddy’s family members and relatives. They are buying TDRs from displaced persons for a pittance and selling them at exorbitant prices,” Rama Rao said.

He said every detail, including seller, the buyer and the transactions would be tracked in the TDR process. Everyone involved in the scam would face



consequences, he stressed. The BRS working president reminded that during last year’s budget session, he had mentioned that they were purchasing TDRs and would later bring in regulations making utilisation of TDRs mandatory.

“As predicted, the Congress government has now introduced new real estate regulations, directing real estate companies to purchase TDRs,” Rama Rao pointed out.

He charged that under Revanth Reddy’s rule, TDR had turned into “Tirupati Reddy Development Rights”. “Revanth Reddy has turned this TDR into an ATM for his family. We will soon hold a press conference to fully expose this TDR scam,” Rama Rao stated.
