The Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) has said that the ruling Congress party is orchestrating a pre-planned conspiracy to rig the Jubilee Hills Assembly by-election through booth capturing, bogus voting and intimidation.

In a strongly worded letter to the Chief Election Commissioner, BRS leaders said there was a complete breakdown of law and order, urging immediate deployment of central forces and special observers to safeguard the polls.

The appeal, signed by senior BRS representatives, pointed out systematic misuse of State machinery. The Congress, in collusion with police and local AIMIM leaders, was importing bogus voters from outside the constituency, sheltering them in booked function halls across Shaikpet, Rahmath Nagar, Yousufguda, Borabanda and Yerragadda divisions.

“Fake voter cards are being printed in coordination with local police for rigging on polling day,” the letter stated, warning of large-scale impersonation by fake women voters and anti-social elements.

The BRS highlighted sensitive and vulnerable booths, including Nos. 20-22, 40-42, 54-58, and

61-70 in Shaikpet’s Gulshan Colony, Diamond Hills, and nearby areas. It said 99 percent of booths in Yerragadda and adjacent divisions were at risk, with State ministers like Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy and Jupally Krishna Rao indulging in intimidation, threats and illegal detention of BRS workers and sympathisers. Police inaction was cited as enabling massive celebrations and inducement activities under the guise of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s birthday, flouting the Model Code of Conduct.

The BRS also sought binding over known troublemakers with shadow policing, seizure of fake IDs and cash inducements, deployment of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) at all high-risk booths, mandatory CCTV and webcasting with real-time ECI monitoring, appointment of special central observers, cancellation of hall bookings, and stationing of women police officers at 105 identified sensitive booths. It also called for FIRs against perpetrators to prevent systematic rigging.

Earlier in the day, the BRS released videos on social media, allegedly showing Congress workers distributing cash in houses in the Jubilee Hills constituency.
