A newlywed woman was allegedly abducted from her marital home just two days after marriage by her family members in Ellapur village of Papannapet mandal, in the district in Telangana, as she married a boy from another caste, which they opposed.

According to reports, a youth named Pranay from Ellapur village fell in love with a girl from Salabatpur village in Kowdipalli mandal. Despite opposition from the bride's family, the couple got married on the 6th of this month.

Following the wedding, a panchayat was held at the Papannapet police station, where the police counseled both families. The girl told officials that she was a major and chose

to go to her marital home with Pranay.

However, the bride's family was not willing to accept the marriage, and on Wednesday, around 12 to 15 of her relatives, including a woman, arrived at the groom’s house in four cars.

They entered the house and got into a heated argument with Pranay. Despite resistance from the groom and his family members, the relatives allegedly forced their way in, took the woman out of the house, and left in their cars.

Pranay and his family tried to stop them, but were pushed back. There was no major physical altercation, but the abduction was captured on CCTV cameras installed in the house.
