Blood donation camps are being organised as part of preparations for Milad-un-Nabi, with organisers appealing to people to come forward and donate blood for patients who require regular transfusions.

The month of Rabi al-Awwal holds significance for Muslims as Prophet Mohammed was born on the 12th day of the Islamic month.

On Sunday, the Milad Committee Moinabad organised a blood donation camp at ABK Function Hall with around 500 people participating, which was held to help thalassaemia

and cancer patients.

Another blood donation camp was organised by the Milad Committee Pargi at Qutb Shahi Jama Masjid in Pargi, Vikarabad district. The organisers said the camp was being held for the fifth consecutive year.

More blood donation camps are planned in the coming days. The Forum for Cultural Upgradation and Social Service (FOCUS) will organise a camp at Asafia Library, Afzalgunj, and another camp will be held at Prime Function Halls, New Mallepally, by Congress leader Osman Mohammed Khan.
