Bharatiya Janata Party State president Bandi Sanjay visited the Bhagyalakshmi temple at Charminar on Friday morning along with the recently elected corporators.

He was accompanied by BJP legislator T Raja Singh and other leaders. The temple committee members welcomed the delegation and felicitated them.

The BJP leaders administered an oath to the 48 corporators near the temple. The corporators pledged to work for development and to stay away from corrupt activities.

Interacting with reporters, Sanjay said the BJP

would strive hard for development of the old city.

“We will again come to the old city, the people want the BJP to help them,” he said.

To a question on reports that the BJP corporators could switch sides to the TRS, Sanjay said the corporators had taken an oath to work for public welfare at the temple and would not get lured by any party. He questioned the decision of holding the elections before end of the term of the GHMC council but delaying holding the Mayoral elections.
