Tension prevailed at the Secretariat here on Friday after Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders tried to barge into the premises as part of their “Save Hyderabad” protest.
The BJP city leaders launched the “Save Hyderabad” campaign to protest against the Congress government’s failure in addressing the civic issues in the city.
After the death of five persons due to
electrocution at Ramanthapur last week, overflowing sewer lines, poor road conditions, and atrocities against women and firing incident at a jewellery showroom, the opposition parties charged that the Congress government had failed to ensure safety of the citizens.
Apart from flooding of roads due to rains, sewer lines were overflowing at many places across the city. The roads were damaged and taken over by potholes.
