BJP not a threat to TRS: CM KCR

Chief Minister and TRS president K Chandrashekar Rao on Wednesday asked the party leaders not to take the BJP seriously stating that the Saffron party has no scope in the State and expressed confidence that the government schemes would help TRS in any election. Chief Minister had a meeting at Telangana Bhavan with the important party leaders to review the progress of construction of party offices in all the districts. 

According to party leaders, KCR gave cheques for Rs 60 lakh to each district party in-charge for construction of party offices and also gave the design/plan of the proposed building.

The TRS chief directed the party leaders to complete the constructions by Dasara. The party is constructing offices in all the districts and foundation stones were laid last month for the offices in 29 districts. The TRS chief gave plans of the buildings to the in charges in 30 districts. Sources said the TRS chief asked the party leaders not to take the BJP seriously stating that the party had no scope in the State. He said the BJP, which is ruling at the Centre, is doing nothing special for the State whereas the TRS government has been working for the people with many innovative schemes.

"The schemes of the TRS government are 'Sri Rama raksha' for the party and these schemes would ensure that party gets support from the people," the Chief Minister said in the meeting according to a TRS leader. The Chief Minister said that there was drought like situation in the State but still there is no drinking water crisis and the Mission Bhagiratha is helping the people in villages. The TRS president expressed satisfaction over the progress of membership drive and asked the leaders to complete the process as soon as possible.

He instructed the party leaders to complete the formation of village committees by the month-end. Sources said that the Kothagudem MLA Vanama Venkateshwar Rao brought to the notice of the Chief Minister about 'Podu lands' and overaction by the forest officials. The MLA alleged that the Forest officials were harassing the tribals in the name of laws. However, the Chief Minister asked the party leaders not to indulge in controversies and promised to address the issue soon during his visit the districts. The Chief Minister is contemplating visiting districts soon. 

Sources said that the TRS chief told the party leaders that even after doing so much for the employees they were not supportive. However, he asked the leaders not to focus on the employees stating that the schemes would benefit the party. Sources said that the TRS chief expressed confidence of good show in the Municipal elections and expected that the BJP would get single digit.
