After 19 months of pursuing the suspects, the Bidar police have arrested in Bihar the two men accused of robbing the ATM cash and killing a cash custodian in the daylight attack.
According to sources the two are identified as Aman Kumar Singh and Alok Kumar, both from Bihar who were involved in the robbery case. They are also suspected to have been involved in the Afzalgunj firing incident, which reportedly took place hours after they fled to Hyderabad following the Bidar robbery and murder.
A Bidar police team led by SP Pradeep Gunti is learnt to have arrested the two men in Vaishali district on
Wednesday afternoon. The police officials are expected to give the details of the arrest once the accused are brought to Bidar.
The case dates back to January 16, 2025, when two helmeted men allegedly opened fire on CMS employees transporting cash for an SBI ATM. They fled with a trunk containing Rs 83 lakh. CMS cash custodian Giri Venkatesh was killed in the incident, while another employee, Shivakumar, sustained serious injuries.
The incident took place in broad daylight, and the suspects reportedly fled towards Hyderabad, where they are said to have been involved in the firing incident at Afzalgunj.
