Yadadri-Bhongir superintendent of police Akshansh Yadav on Friday urged youngsters to stay away from drugs and lead healthy lives.

The district police organised a 2K awareness rally in Bhongir to mark the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.

The rally began at the old bus stand and passed through the town's main junctions. Addressing participants, the SP said drug abuse destroys health and ruins lives. He urged

students and youth to shun bad habits and contribute to society.

He also appealed to the public to inform the police about drug smuggling or consumption. The police also administered a pledge to students and youth to work towards making Yadadri-Bhongir a drug-free district.

Additional SP Lakshminarayana, DSP Ravinder and DSP (Traffic) Prabhakar Reddy, along with police personnel, students and others, participated in the rally.
