Bandh called by BC JAC on Saturday demanding 42 percent reservations to Backward Classes hit normal life hardly as all the business establishments and public transport remained shut in erstwhile Khammam and Warangal districts.

TGRTC buses were confined to depots, a holiday was declared for both government and private schools in view of bandh. All the main thoroughfares looked deserted



due to lack of vehicular movement. All kinds of shops, including eateries, were closed voluntarily across both the districts.

In Kothagudem, Left parties and BRS cadres staged protests at the bus stand in support of the bandh. Similarly a dharna was staged at Bhadrachalam by BC associations, CPM, CPI,BRS, CPI (ML) New Democracy and other parties demanding the Centre to approve the BC bill.
