Former Indian skipper Mohammed Azharuddin’s  nomination for the post of president of Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) was rejected by the Returning Officer here on Saturday morning. The rejection is bound to raise a controversy as different camps have divergent opinions on the rejection.

However, the Returning Officer K. Rajeev Reddy has accepted the nominations of G. Vivekanand and Vidyut Jaisimha. Mr Vivekanand is a former MP and an advisor to the Telangana Government.

The list of accepted nominations and voters list was to be declared on Friday, but for an undisclosed reason, it was released on Saturday morning. Sources said the lists were pasted on the walls at the HCA office at 6 a.m.
