An auto rickshaw driver won appreciation from the police for returning a woman’s bag at Saifabad police station.

 At 6.45 pm on Thursday, a 43-year-old woman, Sujatha R. Hiremath (43) of Gulbarga in Karnataka approached Saifabad police stating that while traveling from Narsingi to Birla Mandir in an auto when she accidentally forgot her bag in the vehicle. 

The bag contained 6.5 tulas of gold ornaments and



Rs.3,500 in cash. Upon receiving the petition, Saifabad Inspector A. Seethaiah assigned the task to two constables K. Vinay Kumar and Madan Mohan.

By verifying CCTV footage, the team successfully traced the auto and contacted the driver, K. Nagesh, within one hour.

 The driver responded promptly and confirmed that the bag was safe on the back seat. He reached the police station and handed over the gold and cash intact.
