Oruganti Ranjith Kumar, a social activist from the district, entered his name in the India World Record and Telugu Book of Records by successfully completing a 1,000-km marathon bike ride spanning 13 districts in Andhra Pradesh over 17 days to spread awareness among youngsters and the public about the adverse consequences of narcotic drugs. He was congratulated by SP Nitika Pant here on Thursday.
Speaking on the occasion, Nitika praised Ranjith for completing the bike ride for a novel cause. She opined that creating awareness among youngsters
about the consequences of drug addiction was the need of the hour. She urged everyone to come forward and raise awareness. She congratulated the activist for etching his name in the two record books.
Hailing from Goleti village in Rebbena mandal, Ranjith began his journey at Tirupati and concluded the bike ride in Visakhapatnam with the objective of creating a drug-free society. He claimed that he had raised awareness among youngsters about the ill effects of narcotic substances. He stated that the recognition had enhanced his sense of responsibility.
