The restoration and repair works at the Koh-e-Moula Ali are to be taken up on faster pace with Arvind Kumar, Principal Secretary, MA&UD, visiting the centuries old holy place and inspecting the shrine on Sunday.

“As advised by KT Rama Rao Minister for MA&UD, visited the highly revered Moula Ali shrine of Qutb Shahi era to assess the repairs and restoration required. Will coordinate with the Waqf Board,” Arvind Kumar tweeted.

The State government has taken up developmental works on the Qutb Shahi era religious place located in Malkajgiri in the last few years. As part of this, construction work on a ramp to reach the shrine from the road is taken up. The first phase of work was completed a few

years ago and the government sanctioned another Rs. 25 crore for the second phase of the ramp works at the shrine. A private company was awarded the contract to take up the work.

“Works relating to the restoration of ‘Niyaaz khana’ and the main shrine are to be taken up. The premises are in dilapidated conditions due to the age factor and lack of proper timely maintenance. Proper repairs and restoration is possible if the ramp is constructed and material required is made available at the hilltop easily,” said former MLC, Altaf Hyder Razvi. The ramp works have to be done on priority basis as it will benefit the pilgrims to reach the hilltop shrine without any discomfort, Rizvi added.
