Arrest Bandi Sanjay’s son immediately, demands BRS MLA Vemula

Balkonda MLA and former Minister Vemula Prashant Reddy on Tuesday demanded the immediate arrest of Bandi Bhageerath, son of Union Minister of State for Home Bandi Sanjay Kumar, in connection with the controversial POCSO case. He called for an impartial probe without political interference and full protection for the minor victim and her family.

Addressing the media in Nizamabad, Prashant Reddy alleged that police delayed registering the complaint for three months despite



charges of rape of a minor after administering drugs and alcohol. The case was filed only after increasing public outrage and protests by BRS, he said.

The BRS MLA called the filing of a counter honey-trap case against the victim as outrageous. “Under the POCSO Act, the statement of a minor is sacrosanct. Can a minor girl set a honey trap?” he asked. The counter cases against the victim indicated that Revanth Reddy and Bandi Sanjay were in cahoots with each other, he alleged.
