The annual conference of DGPs and IGPs to be held in Hyderabad from November 25-27. This will be for the third time since independence that the conference will be held outside Delhi - first in Guwahati in 2014 and Kutch in Gujarat in 2015.

The idea of holding the meeting of DGPs and IGPs outside Delhi was first mooted by the Prime Minister himself after he assumed power in 2014. Issues like cross-border terrorism, radicalisation of youths and attempts to lure Indians into Middle-East terrorist group ISIS would be discussed threadbare at the meeting to be inaugurated by the Prime Minister, official sources said.

The Prime Minister and Home Minister Rajnath Singh would directly interact with the top police officers and get their feedback about the prevailing internal security situation and various aspects of police personnel, the sources said.
