Fri 05 Jun 2020, 11:06:58
City Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar has on Thursday issued a memo to four Inspectors and a Sub-inspector working in the Central Zone for dereliction of duty following the incident of a person jumping in front of the Chief Minister’s convoy during the Telangana Formation Day programme at Gun Park on Tuesday.

The Commissioner also sought an explanation from an ACP who was in charge of the bandobast.

The person, identified as J Hanumanthu, a contract driver

with the GHMC’s Disaster Response Force (DRF), had tried to meet the Chief Minister to submit a representation seeking a double bedroom house, when the Chief Minister was returning after paying homage at the Martyrs Memorial at Gun Park.

His attempt to meet the Chief Minister created a security scare and police personnel present there immediately overpowered him. A case was booked against Hanumanthu at the Saifabad police station.
