The staff of an 108 ambulance were forced to carry a pregnant woman across a road submerged in the backwaters of a lake in a village between Bommareddygudem and Kodur villages of Pulkal mandal on Saturday.
The woman, Anusha, a resident of Bommareddygudem, developed labour pains on Saturday, following which her family members called the 108 ambulance staff to shift her to the Mother and Child Care (MCH)
Centre in Sangareddy.
When ambulance pilot K Mohan drove the vehicle close to Bommareddygudem, he found the road submerged in knee-deep water. Unable to cross the flooded stretch, the emergency medical technician (EMT) of the ambulance, P Anudeep, crossed the road on foot carrying a stretcher.
With the help of the family members, he carried the pregnant woman across the submerged road.
