Telangana government has decided to bring all welfare departments under a single roof and allocate staff to each department depending on the requirement in every new district that would come into operation from Dasara this year. 
In a day-long meeting with district Collectors and Superintendents of Police (SPs) on the formation of new districts on Tuesday, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao reviewed progress of formation of new districts. The Chief Minister instructed the officials to merge related departments so that there could be effective functioning. 
Accordingly, the existing welfare departments would be merged and will have one officer in each district who would be responsible for deliverance of services.
Conglomeration of District Rural Development Agency (DRDA), Society for Elimination of Rural Poverty (SERP) and District Water Management Association (DWMA) will be formed into a single wing, project-wise administration for each major irrigation project, single authority for medium



and small irrigation projects and monitoring of agriculture, sericulture and horticulture by a one official in every district were some of the decisions take at the meeting. 
KCR asked officials to deploy more number of officials in departments that were very active in the districts. For instance, more number of staff is required in horticulture department in Ranga Reddy district and sericulture in Khammam and industries department in Hyderabad district. 
The Chief Minister asked officials to make a proper assessment about the requirement of the staff to each department.The Chief Minister said that the government had already released of Rs 1 crore for the construction of Collectorates and Rs 50 lakh for SP offices in every new district. 
He asked the Collectors to create a new mechanism to wherein they can directly monitor the implementation of welfare schemes and development activities and ensure that the objective of the government in carving smaller districts was achieved.
