HYDERABAD: Slamming the Bharatiya Janata Party-led Central government for their apparent failure, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen’s Chandrayangutta candidate Akbaruddin Owaisi took a potshot at Prime Minister Narendra Modi by calling him a 'chaiwala'.

Speaking at a public meeting at in Baba Nagar under the Chandrayangutta constituency, Owaisi who is looking for his fifth re-election from the constituency, said, “When demonetisation took place, he had urged people to give him 50 days for the move to be a success and if it does not, then to punish him. Bollywood actors like Dileep Kumar, Shahrukh Khan and others would have been embarrassed if they
saw this 'chaiwala’s' acting earlier.”

Owaisi, who is also the floor leader for AIMIM in the State Legislative Assembly, said, “He also keeps on saying, “Fakir hai, jhola leke chal pare.” I want to tell the chaiwala that, after the 2019 elections when you go (out of power), I will put a few things in your jhola. I will personally put tea leaves, teapot,

and a stove.”

“People would ask me, why are you calling him a 'chaiwala' so many times,” Owaisi rhetorically said, “If he can call himself 'chaiwala', I can too. Three days back, he referred to himself as that,” Owaisi claimed. He further criticised Modi saying, “What is his qualification? Is he an economist? A historian? An industrialist? What is he? The country has weakened so much, and the responsibility lies with the 'chaiwala'.”

Asaduddin Owaisi slams Khattar for his rape remark

Slamming Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar for his remark that most rape accusations came from ‘mere disagreements’, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen chief Asaduddin Owaisi termed Khattar as ‘a sorry excuse for a CM’. Owaisi took to Twitter to voice out his resentment and said, “What a sorry excuse for a CM. Rape cases in Haryana shot up by 47 per cent & (sic) abduction of women shot up by 100 per cent.  Instead, here he is, indulging in the worst kind of victim blaming.”
