The Karimnagar Police on Saturday said there were no offensive, hostile or inciting comments constituting hatred, in AIMIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi’s speech in Karimnagar, on Tuesday evening at a public meeting. Commissioner of Police, Karimnagar, VB Kamalasan Reddy, said the police had legal experts examine Akbaruddin’s speech video as well as translate its script.

Experts pointed out to no wrongdoing on the AIMIM leader’s part during his speech.

There was no question of registering any cases against him as was being demanded by some, Kamalasan Reddy said. He also

appealed to people from all sections of the society to maintain calm in the light of these findings and cooperate with the police.

Kamalasan Reddy said as a matter of abundant precaution, the department had recorded on video Akbaruddin’s entire speech and using the services of translation experts, had a transcript prepared. These two were then placed before legal experts for their opinion. Following their advice that there was no evidence of offending comments from the AIMIM leader, the police will not be taking any further action in this manner, he said.
