Eleven-year-old Advika Muthar from Hyderabad won the gold medal in the Under-12 girls' Figure Skating category at the 21st National Ice Skating Championship held recently in Dehradun. 

Competing in her maiden national ice skating event, Advika finished on top of the podium, earning qualification to represent India at the upcoming Asian Open Ice Skating Championship in Jakarta, Indonesia. 

Already an accomplished artistic



roller skater, Advika had earlier won two silver medals and one bronze medal at the Taiwan Open Artistic Roller Skating Championship this year.

She also boasts an impressive record in national artistic roller skating competitions, having won 12 gold, six silver and one bronze medal. Advika is the daughter of retired Indian Army engineer Subedar Prakasan Muthar and Santhika. The family, originally from Kerala's Kannur district, is now settled in Hyderabad.
