Superintendent of Police Akhil Mahajan advised tribals to stay away from the consumption of banned ganja. He visited the remote villages of Maregaon, Hirapur, Paraswada-B, Gouri and Kolamguda in Gadiguda mandal as part of an outreach programme on Saturday.

Akhil toured the villages predominantly populated by tribals. He learnt about the major challenges faced by the residents. He discussed education, employment, road safety and the future of youngsters with the tribals during his tour. He



had breakfast with the residents. He was accorded a grand welcome by the tribals for visiting the villages for the first time.

The SP told the residents to encourage their children to pursue education in government-run schools and colleges free of cost. He advised them to explore self-employment opportunities. He asked them to give paramount importance to girls’ education. He wanted them to avoid child marriages and wear helmets while travelling. He stressed the need to harvest rainwater.
