As many as 232 two-wheelers and two each autos and cars were seized during inspections conducted as part of community contact programme held at Sonala Mandal Headquarters in Adilabad district early Tuesday.
The extensive early-morning inspection helped in registering separate cases for consuming ganja in addition to booking excise cases against two persons. A car fitted with a fake number plate was also seized.
The police issued a warning against illegal activities including ganja and PDS rice
smuggling and Matka.
The motorists were advised to follow traffic rules and wear helmets and the residents were urged to install CCTV cameras, Special Branch DSP N. Venkata Narasayya said that a community contact programme was conducted at Sonala Mandal headquarters on Tuesday, as per the directions of Adilabad Superintendent of Police, Akhil Mahajan with an objective of maintaining law and order, enhancing the sense of security among the public, preventing crimes and further strengthening police-public relations.
