Farmers staged a protest by kneeling down before officials alleging that they were being harassed them citing norms to procure soybean produce in Bela mandal centre on Monday.

The agitating farmers said they were forced to return with the beans when National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India Ltd

(NAFED) refused to procure the crop at a warehouse.

They said the Telangana marketing federation department finally purchased the beans when they protested a fortnight back, but officials of NAFED rejected the beans citing norms.

They were now left with no option, but to rely on private traders.
