Addiction to online betting drives 3 persons to commit theft in Jeedimetla

Addiction to online betting followed by alcohol drinking habit forced three persons to commit theft at a businessman’s house in Apuroopa Colony in Jeedimetla, according to Cyberabad police here on Monday. 

The police arrested the three persons in connection with the theft case. The arrested have been identified as Mohammad Asif, a milk vendor, Mohammed Asif and Mohammed Ameer. The police



recovered Rs.2.15 lakh in cash, two mobile phones and a bike from the possession of the arrested persons, 

According to P. Naresh Reddy, ACP, Balanagar Division the arrested persons were habitual drinkers and addicted to online betting, which contributed to their involvement in the crime due to financial difficulties. The operation was carefully planned with assigned roles, Naresh Reddy said.
