Acting as a buyer a man had allegedly stolen gold items weighing around 13 tulas from a jewellery shop at Manugur town in the district and police launched a manhunt to nab the accused.

The incident took place at Srivaari Jewellers at Ambedkar centre in the town on Friday. The shop owner Kalyani told the media that during the afternoon she went for



lunch and there was a worker in the shop.

The accused who wanted to buy some silver items told the worker that he would pay an advance of Rs 500 for them and he would come back in the evening to collect those silver items. Nearly forty minutes after the man left the shop, the owner came back to the shop and found that a box containing gold items was missing.
