ACB Raids Town Planning Officer's Residence in Suryapet

Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials on Tuesday conducted surprise raids on the residence of Suryapet Municipal Town Planning Officer V. Somaiah in Manasa Nagar, in the district, over allegations of disproportionate assets, following complaints filed against him. 

ACB officials registered a case and are carrying out the investigation. Searches are underway at Somaiah 's residences in Suryapet and Hayathnagar in Hyderabad. Officials are also inspecting records at the



Suryapet Municipal Office.

Officials have seized several key documents from his house and are closely examining his bank accounts and property details. It is learnt that Somaiah had earlier worked as Town Planning Officer in Miryalaguda and had left after facing objection from the local MLA there for his activities. 

Later, he reportedly managed to get himself posted as Suryapet TPO on Full Additional Charge (FAC) and subsequently took full charge.
