This was part of a Rs.30,000 bribe demand from one Gopal of Kunnur village for land registration under virasat. Following the demand, approached the ACB and lodged a complaint.

The ACB laid a trap and provided Gopal currency notes marked with special ink to pay the

officials. As per their instructions, Gopal handed over Rs.4,000 to tahsildar Madhavi and Rs.1,000 to Dharani operator Rakesh. ACB officials rushed in and caught the two officials red-handed. In another incident, the ACB officials caught a senior assistant of the panchayat raj department while accepting a bribe of Rs.7,000 from a contractor for doing favour in the textile town of Sircilla. The senior assistant, Joginipalli Bhaskar Rao, had demanded Rs.7,000 for clearance of a bill pertaining to the construction of the compound wall to a burial ground from the contractor.
