ACB '2 Held in Suryapet in Rs 20,000 Bribe Case'

The sleuths of Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Wednesday arrested Megavath Balu, who is District Ground Water Officer in Suryapet district, when he demanded and accepted the bribe amount of Rs. 20,000 from the complainant. 

Balu demanded the bribe through Kosanoju Venkateshwarlu, who is a Data Entry Operator appointed on outsourcing basis at the office of Ground Water department in the district



for doing an official favour. 

The bribe was demanded for granting permission to the complainant's borewell drilling rig and for not imposing unnecessary fines or seizing the rig.

The bribe amount of Rs.20,000 was recovered from the possession of Venkateshwarlu, the ACB officials said, adding that Balu and Venkateshwarlu performed their duty dishonestly to obtain undue advantage.
