Schools across Hyderabad and districts in the State are likely to be disrupted on Tuesday following a statewide bandh call given by the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), over a host of issues related to school education.
Already, several private and corporate educational institutions in Hyderabad have declared a holiday on Tuesday, in anticipation of trouble during the bandh.
The ABVP, which is spearheading the state-wide schools bandh, has alleged that the State government is negligent
towards government schools and it has failed to regulate escalating fee structures in private schools.
The ABVP State Secretary, Macharla Rambabu has appealed to students, parents, and school managements to cooperate with the shutdown on Tuesday.
Criticizing Chief Minister, A Revanth Reddy, who holds the education portfolio, the ABVP leader alleged that the Chief Minister is acting as a ‘brand ambassador’ for private and corporate educational institutions rather than safeguarding government schools.
