More than 90 flights that operate between Hyderabad and northern cities like Srinagar, Jammu, Amritsar, Leh and Chandigarh have been cancelled until 5.29 am on May 10 due to airspace restrictions. The cancellations have come after a notification from aviation authorities and major airlines including Air India, IndiGo and SpiceJet have suspended services to and from these destinations.
These routes are especially busy during the summer season as many people travel to hill stations and tourist spots in the north. On an average, Air India operates around 11 flights to
Srinagar, 10 to Amritsar, 14 to Leh and around 4-5 to Jammu and 12 to Chandigarh from Hyderabad. IndiGo also runs 10 flights to Srinagar, 11 to Amritsar, 11 to Leh and 7 to Jammu.
In their travel advisories, airlines have asked passengers to check their flight status and have offered easy options for rebooking or refunds.
As of now, flights to and from these destinations are expected to resume only after May 10 at 5.29 am, depending on further announcements from the aviation authorities.
