Nine flights were diverted to other airports from Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) in Shamshabad on Friday night following inclement weather due to heavy rain. 

While half a dozen flights bound to Hyderabad were diverted to the airport in Bangalore, two other flights to Chennai and one to Nagpur, according to airport sources. 

Flight AI 2875 from Mumbai to Hyderabad, Flight S5 174 from Pune to Hyderabad, flight S5 197 from Nanded to Hyderabad, flight 6E 1028 from Singapore



to Hyderabad, flight 6E 5236 from Bombay to Hyderabad, flight 6E 717 from Delhi to Hyderabad were diverted to Bangalore.

While flight 6E 6683 from Varanasi to Hyderabad and flight 6E 2083 were diverted to Chennai, flight 6E 638 from Bangalore to Hyderabad was diverted to Nagpur. 

These flights were diverted after the Air Traffic Control (ATC) at RGIA denied permission for them to land due to bad weather prompting the crew to land at the nearest airports at Bangalore, Chennai and Nagpur.
