In Telangana, the second phase of gram panchayat elections recorded an overall turnout of about 85.86 percent across the villages that went to the polls. 

Out of over 54.40 lakh voters in the second phase poll-bound panchayats, over 46.70 lakh voters exercised their franchise, which is 85.86 percent.

The State Election Commission announced that, except for a few, results for all posts have been announced by the wee hours this



morning. Election was held for 3,911 Surpanch and 29,917 ward members during the second phase.

Meanwhile, the ruling Congress-backed candidates continued their winning streak, securing nearly two thousand Sarpanch posts in the second phase of the Gram Panchayat elections in the state, followed by the main Opposition Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) supporters with nearly a thousand posts and BJP-backed candidates with about 300 posts, while others won around 450 posts.
