The Telangana Fire, Disaster Response and Emergency Services department in coordination with State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) personnel rescued 808 people stuck in the flood water in five districts in north Telangana since Wednesday morning.
These people were rescued from the areas inundated with rain water in Kamareddy, Medak, Rajanna Sircilla, Jagtial and Nirmal districts and sent to safe places. The highest number of people was rescued from Ramayanpet Town in Medak, according to a press statement.
As many as 350 students in SC Women’s Degree College Hostel in Ramayanpet Town were shifted to a safe place by the crew of Ramayanpet fire station.
The Nirmal boat crew and SDRP personnel from Nizamabad rescued 200 students from SC
Welfare Boys Residential School at GR Colony in Kamareddy. The fire crew rescued 84 students from SC, ST Welfare Hostel in the town and 70 people at GR Colony in the district.
However, one person at Ramaraopalle village at Korutla mandal in Jagtial and two more persons at Wadi village in Medak district went missing. The operation to rescue four other persons stuck in flood water at Mallareddypet in Rajanna Sircilla district was still on.
A separate rescue operation was carried out at Budipally village in Medak district. One pregnant woman was safely shifted to an ambulance which was halted at Burugupally village due to breach of road connectivity. The victim was safely brought from Rajpet village with the help of SDRF Sangareddy and Ranga Reddy of the fire department.
