While most people fear the very mention of death, an 80-year-old man in Jagtial district has chosen to confront it with calm acceptance.

In a move that has surprised many, the elderly man has spent Rs. 12 lakh to build his own tomb while still in good health at Lakshmipuram village in Jagtial rural mandal.

The man, identified as Nakka Indraiah, has two children and built the tomb two years ago. Far from viewing it with sadness, he regularly visits his future resting place, finding a sense of

peace in his preparation.

Indraiah did not opt for a simple structure. Using high-quality marble, he constructed a well-designed tomb next to the grave of his late wife, symbolising what villagers describe as a moving expression of eternal companionship.

Unlike most people who avoid graveyards, Indraiah treats the place almost like a retreat. He visits it daily to clean the surroundings, sweep and polish the marble, water the trees planted nearby and sit quietly for some time before returning home.
