Twenty two flights taken off from Hyderabad to Mecca and Madina, and the next flights for the Mecca are scheduled for 11.50 am and 6.54 pm on Sunday. So far, 6,873 pilgrims have left for the Haj from Hyderabad, including pilgrims from Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra and from other states.

Telangana Haj Committee chief Syed Afzal Biyabani (Khusro Pasha) said the panel was taking feedback from

inspectors and pilgrims, especially those who are elderly and those with health issues. He said an assistant executive officer will be sent to Jeddah to oversee the facilities and to manage the control room.

He said there were more elderly pilgrims this year, and that his reports were that the pilgrims were in good health and performing their prayers. “The Saudi government is also taking special care,” he said, against the backdrop of pilgrim deaths due to high temperatures. He added that this year the Saudi government had provided a Nusuk card system for pilgrims.
