An All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) leader was stabbed to death in Hyderabad’s Falaknuma area, officials said on Monday.
The deceased has been identified as 60-year-old Mahboob Ali. The incident occurred late Sunday night. The officials said that the motive for the murder was not immediately known.
According to initial information, the AIMIM leader was stabbed in Wattepally, Falaknuma police station area, on Sunday night. Officials
said that a group of five to six people attacked Ali.
They added that the attackers surrounded him near the Almas Hotel and attacked him with knives and sickles. The AIMIM leader was seriously injured by the multiple stab wounds. The perpetrators fled the scene after the incident.
The officials said that following the incident, Ali fell on the road and was like that for about 15 minutes. He was then taken to a hospital; however, he died during treatment.
